Day 1: Hanoi to Ba Be National Park ( L , D )

  • Distance / Time: ~220 km | 6–7 hours of riding - 7:30 AM pick up from your hotel in Hanoi . 
  • Route: Head north out of Hanoi on QL3 toward Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces.
  • Morning: Escape Hanoi’s chaotic morning traffic with your rider. Watch the urban landscape shift into lush tea plantations in Thai Nguyen.
  • Afternoon: Wind through the steep foothills of Bac Kan. Arrive at the pristine Ba Be National Park by late afternoon. 
  • Evening: Check into a traditional stilt house in Pac Ngoi Village (a Tay ethnic minority settlement) right by the lakeside. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner paired with local corn wine. 

Day 2: Ba Be Lake Boat Tour to Cao Bang Cityv( B , L ,D )

  • Distance / Time: ~130 km | 4–5 hours of riding
  • Route: Mountain roads via QL279 and QL3.
  • Morning: Board a rustic wooden boat for a morning cruise across Ba Be Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam. Glide past floating islands, visit the dramatic Dau Dang waterfalls, and see the An Ma Temple.
  • Afternoon: Hop back on the bikes after lunch. Conquer the twists of Gio Pass (Wind Pass) as you climb into the rugged limestone highlands of Cao Bang.
  • Evening: Arrive in Cao Bang City. Stroll along the Bang Giang River - Check in local hotel .

Day 3: Cao Bang City to Ban Gioc Waterfall ( B, L, D ) 

  • Distance / Time: ~90 km | 3 hours of riding
  • Route: Scenic border road along DT206.
  • Morning: Ascend the spectacular, multi-tiered Ma Phuc Pass. Stop at the top for panoramic views of traditional villages nestled inside deep limestone basins.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at the jaw-dropping Ban Gioc Waterfall, which straddles the international border with China. Take a bamboo raft to get close enough to feel the spray of the falls. Afterward, explore the massive, illuminated chambers of Nguom Ngao Cave nearby.
  • Evening: Stay overnight in Khuoi Ky, a unique 400-year-old stone village inhabited by the Tay people. 

Day 4: Ban Gioc Waterfall to Pac Bo Historical Site to Cao Bang City (B, L, D ) 

  • Distance / Time: ~150 km | 4-5 hours of riding
  • Route: Border road DT206 linking to DT208/QL3 up to the northernmost border tip.
  • Morning: Ride through the quiet countryside along the Chinese border. Head to Pac Bo Cave, the historic hideout where President Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam in 1941. Take a peaceful walk beside the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of the Lenin Stream.
  • Afternoon: Ride back down toward Cao Bang City through sweeping valley floors and agricultural farmsteads.
  • Evening: Relax at a hotel in Cao Bang City. Grab a refreshing local drink at a riverside cafe. 

Day 5: Cao Bang City to Lang Son City (B, L, D ) 

  • Distance / Time: ~140 km | 5 hours of riding
  • Route: Historic QL4A (the famous "Border Highway").
  • Morning: Cruise down the winding mountain passes of QL4A, a route rich with French colonial military history. Stop at historic battlegrounds like Dong Khe and That Khe.
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Lang Son City, a bustling border trading hub. Explore the sprawling Tam Thanh Cave, which houses a hidden Buddhist pagoda carved directly into the rock face.
  • Evening: Visit the lively Ky Lua Night Market to sample roasted duck with Mac Mat leaves (Vịt quay Lạng Sơn), a signature dish of the region. 

Day 6: Lang Son City to Hanoi ( B, L ) 

  • Distance / Time: ~160 km | 4–5 hours of riding
  • Route: QL1A straight back down to the Red River Delta.
  • Morning: Ride through the breathtaking Chi Lang Pass, a monumental valley flanked by towering limestone cliffs that served as a historical defense point against ancient invasions.
  • Afternoon: The mountain roads flatten out into the industrial plains of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces. Stop to see traditional pottery or historic pagodas if time allows before entering Hanoi.
  • Evening: Arrive back at your hotel in Hanoi around 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, concluding your journey.
