3 Days Hanoi to Mai Chau - Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This 3-day loop is a classic "Easy Rider" route that escapes the city's congestion for the emerald valleys of the White Thai people in Mai Chau and the dramatic rice terraces of Pu Luong. Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (approx. 160km) ( L , D )
The Ride: Leave the city via the Red River, eventually climbing toward the Thung Khe Pass, White Stone Pass), known for its mist and panoramic valley views. The Experience: Arrive in Mai Chau by noon. Spend the afternoon cycling or riding through Lac and Pom Coong villages. Stay: Over-night in a traditional White Thai stilt house.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Pu Luong Nature Reserve ( B , L, D )
The Ride: A shorter but stunning ride along backroads and bamboo forests toward the nature reserve. The Experience: Visit the Kho Muong village and explore the massive Bat Cave, (Hang Doi). Discover the ingenious bamboo water wheels used by local farmers for irrigation. Stay: A boutique eco-retreat or a rustic homestay overlooking the rice terraces.( Homestay in Hieu village .
Day 3: Pu Luong – Hanoi (approx. 170km ) ( B, L )
The Ride: Take the scenic route via Hieu Waterfall and the Ho Chi Minh Trail to back toward Hanoi. The Experience: Stop at the Cham Stream for a bamboo raft rowing experience before the final push back to the city, arriving before the evening rush hour.
