This 4-day Easy Rider loop takes you from the bustling streets of Hanoi through the dramatic Khau Pha Pass, the stunning terraced rice fields of Mu Cang Chai, and the serene waters of Thac Ba Lake.
Day 1: Hanoi – Son Tay – Nghia Lo (Approx. 200 km) ( L , D )
Morning: 7:00 AM picked up at your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter, meet your Easy Rider, and
ride to the western outskirts (e.g., Son Tay) to escape city traffic. Hop on the bike and ride through
lush rural roads to the gateway of the northwest.
Afternoon: Ride through endless tea plantations and limestone karst scenery, gradually ascending
into the mountainous Yen Bai province.
Evening: Arrive in Nghia Lo valley. Check into a local guesthouse by the Thai ethnic minority. Enjoy
a traditional dinner and local corn wine.
Day 2: Nghia Lo – Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai (Approx. 95 km) ( B , L , D )
Morning: Ride through the sweeping valleys of Tu Le, renowned for its sticky rice. Begin your ascent
of Khau Pha Pass, one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam. Expect stunning, panoramic
views of dense fog and layered rice terraces from the 40 km route.
Afternoon: Explore the heart of Mu Cang Chai. Ride or trek around the iconic Mam Xoi (Raspberry)
and La Pan Tan rice terraces crafted by the H'mong people.
Evening: Stay overnight in an H'mong or Thai homestay to experience authentic local hospitality and
witness the spectacular sunset over the terraces.
Day 3: Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen – Thac Ba Lake (Approx. 165 km) ( B, L, D )
Morning: Descend from the highlands through Than Uyen, riding along the edges of majestic
mountain ranges. You'll pass traditional villages and cascading streams.
Afternoon: Head southeast toward Yen Binh district, approaching the massive Thac Ba Lake.
Evening: Stay at a stilt-house homestay in Vu Linh village, right on the shores of Thac Ba Lake
(Vietnam's largest man-made lake with thousands of islets). Enjoy a relaxing evening swimming,
eating fresh fish, and having a few drinks with the local Dzao people.
Day 4: Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi (Approx. 160 km)( B ,L )
Morning: Take a peaceful boat ride on Thac Ba Lake to see the emerald-green islets and local
fishermen.
Afternoon: Ride the bikes back toward the Red River Delta, taking quieter backroads and bypassing
the chaotic highways. Arrive safely back in Hanoi. Your Easy Rider tour concludes with a drop-off at
your hotel in the Old Quarter.
